b. 51

composition: Op. 29, Impromptu in A♭ major

..

The sources differ in the range and position of the crescendo hairpins. In GE the sign was moved between the pentagrams, which particularly in the notation of GE2 (→GE3GE4) may suggest that it is applicable in the part of the R.H. It cannot be excluded that a similar change was performed in FE, shortening additionally both the beginning and the end of the hairpins. In EE the hairpins begin over the 1st crotchet.

b. 53-54

composition: Op. 29, Impromptu in A♭ major

..

The sources differ in the range of dynamic hairpins and their positioning. The hairpins in A start just after the 1st crotchet in bar 53 and they end before the 1st beat of bar 54. In GE the beginning of crescendo was recreated according to A, yet it was shortened to the bar line. In EE the hairpins were put over the 1st note to the end of bar 54. A and EE have their hairpins above the upper pentagram, while FE and GE between the pentagrams.

Lack of the staccato dot in bar 59 in EE is certainly an oversight. The notation in FE is, however, consequent: in the entire fragment comprising bars 51-75 of this edition there is not a single dot.

b. 56-57

composition: Op. 29, Impromptu in A♭ major

The sources differ in the range of the diminuendo hairpins and their positioning. A and FE are compatible in this aspect, as the hairpins include the 2nd half of bar 56 and the entire bar 57. In GE their beginning was slightly shortened, yet in EE both the beginning and the ending of the hairpins was shortened, reaching only the middle of bar 57. In A, FE and EE the hairpins were put over the great stave, while in the other sources they were placed between the pentagrams.
