Issues : EE inaccuracies
b. 496-521
|
composition: Op. 39, Scherzo in C♯ minor
..
In the main text we present consistent and logical slurring of FE (only at the beginning of b. 497 the slur's ending/extention from previous bars is missing). They are present in GE, despite different notation of GC, where the slurs in line-ending bars 496, 504 and 512 may actually suggest continuation (except b. 520) but for the lack of their completion at the beginning of bars 497, 505 and 513. EE has varied slurring: twice a three-bar slurs and twice two times longer. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Inaccuracies in FE , GE revisions , EE inaccuracies , Inaccuracies in GC |

In EE both minims share a stem, which must have resulted from misinterpretation of the basis manuscript. category imprint: Source & stylistic information issues: EE inaccuracies |

b. 505-506
|
composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt III
..
In A bar 505 is the last one on the page and the slurs in this and the next bar do not fit together – the slur in bar 505, although it does not go beyond the bar line, suggests continuation, whereas in bar 506 a new slur clearly begins. In this situation, the version of GE is most probably a result of Chopin's proofreading, since it seems to be unthinkable that the engraver of GE1 would have interpreted the slurs of the base text in this way on his own initiative. This conclusion is confirmed by the traces of corrections of this slur in print, visible in bar 504, cluster of the slur with the category imprint: Graphic ambiguousness; Differences between sources issues: Inaccuracies in FE , Inaccurate slurs in A , EE inaccuracies , Authentic corrections of GE |

The above variants show both sources versions of pedalling of the bars (all of them incomplete or unclear) and their possible interpretations and supplementation. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: Errors in FE , Inaccuracies in GE , GE revisions , EE inaccuracies , Inaccuracies in GC |

b. 540-541

In EE the slur begins as early as in b. 541, close to its beginning even though there are no notes (no even rest) there. category imprint: Source & stylistic information issues: EE inaccuracies |
