Issues : Errors of A

b. 476-477

composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt III

..

In A, Chopin wrote only two naturals in this place – before the 2nd quaver in bar 476 and before the bottom note of the 1st quaver in bar 477. The missing signs before the 1st octave in the L.H. in bar 476 are the only case in the entire fragment in which the first occurrence of a note in a bar was not marked correctly. It probably indicates that the part of the L.H. was written after the passages in the R.H., hence the first b Chopin encountered while writing was the 2nd quaver, written on the bottom stave. Considering that the  is valid also for the topmost note in the L.H., all necessary naturals were added already in GE (→FEEE).

b. 481-484

composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt III

- - - - in A

cresc. - - in GE

cresc. in FE (→EE)

..

A has only dashes marking the range of an unspecified indication in these bars, most probably cresc. from bar 469 – see bars 475-480. The cresc. marking, appearing in GE (→FEEE) at the beginning of bar 481, was added probably by Chopin as proofreading of incomplete indications of A, hence we give it in the main text.
Omission of dashes must be an inaccuracy of the engraver of FE (→EE).

composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt III

No arpeggio sign in A

Arpeggio sign in GE (→FEEE)

The missing arpeggio mark in A before the 1st chord in the L.H. is a patent mistake, corrected already in GE (→FEEE).

b. 481

composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt III

..

In the last chord in the L.H., A does not have signs returning g and b. This patent inaccuracy, probably caused by crossings-out and changes (the crossed out chord sounded e-a-c1-g1), was corrected already in GE (→FEEE). EE added also a cautionary  before g3.

b. 486

composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt III

A (→GE1FE1) features a das the last quaver. At the same time, one can see that initially the entire last triplet was written a second lower – c1-d1-d2. Chopin corrected the first two quavers and most probably overlooked the third one, being in haste. Such a scenario is confirmed by the proofreading of FE2 (→EE) – almost certainly authentic – in which the note was changed to e2. An identical correction was performed in GE2, too.
