In CLI and Ap the 7th and 15th semiquavers are written as a1. At the same time, the notation of Ap is faultless, whereas in CLI there is no returning a1 on the 4th beat of the bar. The latter also appears in FEcor, in which Chopin added the , yet only before the last note. It was moved to the correct position only in a later proofreading of FE (→EE2→EE3), which, eventually, displays an entirely correct text. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , GE revisions , Enharmonic corrections , Authentic corrections of FE |

The traces of a visible in the L.H. part in A1 at the beginning of the bar show that Chopin started writing d here, yet he realised it quickly and wrote c. category imprint: Source & stylistic information issues: Corrections in A , Enharmonic corrections |

b. 32-33
|
composition: Op. 10 No 6, Etude in E♭ minor
..
In A the last note in the 1st half of bar 32 is f1, after which three naturals follow: before f2 in the next chord and before f1 at the end of this and next bars. In a proofreading of FE (→GE,EE) Chopin changed f1 to g1 and deleted the already unnecessary before f2. In FE (→EE2→EE3) the accidental before the last note in bar 32 was also removed, however, the remaining traces suggest that it was a and not a . The assumption is confirmed by f1 appearing in this place in GE (and EE4). In the main text we give the undoubtedly final notation of FE. category imprint: Differences between sources; Editorial revisions issues: EE revisions , Errors in FE , GE revisions , Enharmonic corrections , Authentic corrections of FE |

b. 33

composition: Op. 10 No 7, Etude in C major
..
While proofreading FE (→GE,EE), Chopin changed the notation of the bottom note of the 5th and 6th semiquavers from e1 to d1. At the same time, he did not realise that after the change, a returning d1 in the last pair of semiquavers should be added. The mistake was corrected in GE and EE4. category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations issues: EE revisions , Errors in FE , Omissions to cancel alteration , GE revisions , Enharmonic corrections , Authentic corrections of FE |
