It is apparent that the slur in GC is imprecise - it ends on the end of b. 398 (b.56), which was rightly corrected in GE by extending it over to the first crotchet. This diminshes GC (→GE) credibility and raises doubts as for the slur's beginning as well. The slur, when read literally, in GC (→GE), only begins in b. 407. This must come from an error in bars 64 and 406, so we do not take this notation into account. In GC the slur extends as far as b. 445, which in this context must be considered inaccurate the same as in GE. This too long and imprecise slur may have occured already in [A1] as EE has a slur that results most probably from misinterpreting the composer's intention. In the main text we present both consistent and natural slurring of FE (and GE). In EE the slurs over chorale phrases in these bars are shorter, analogous to previous examples (in b. 226). In GC the slur in bars 474-476 (b. 476 is the last one on the page) is ambiguous as its ending suggest conitnuation but it doesnt extend over in b. 477, moreover its beginning is notated as boldly as its ending, hence its cautious interpretation.
