Issues : Omissions to cancel alteration

b. 1-5

composition: Op. 10 No 2, Etude in A minor

..

In bars 1 and 5 in CLI there are no naturals returning a1d2 and f2. The signs were also originally absent in FEcor (→FE,EE), in which Chopin added all of them. A correct notation is featured in Ap too. Similarly as in all subsequent repetitions of this bar (bars 9, 13, 36 and 40).

b. 1

composition: Op. 25 No 7, Etude in C♯ minor

..

In GC (→GE1) and EE there is no  returning f at the beginning of the 2nd group of semiquavers of the introduction, which almost certainly corresponds to the notation of [A]. It is a very typical mistake of Chopin – cf., e.g., the Nocturne in Cminor, Op. 27 No. 1, bar 83, or the Impromptu in A major, Op. 29, bar 71. The sign was added in the proofreading of FE, most probably by Chopin, as well as in GE2 (→GE3).

b. 2-6

composition: Op. 10 No 2, Etude in A minor

No  in CLI

Naturals in ApFE (→GE,EE

Lack of the  returning b2 on the penultimate semiquaver in bars 2 and 6 is most probably an inaccuracy of the notation of CLI. In bar 2 Chopin added the sign in FEcor, in bar 6 – probably already in the handwritten base text for FE.

b. 2-4

composition: Op. 50 No. 3, Mazurka in C♯ minor

..

AI is lacking in the sharps restoring f2 in b. 2 and f1 in b. 4. They must be oversights, very typical of Chopin. There is a similar situation in b. 94 and 96.

b. 2

composition: Op. 2, Variations, complete

..

In the sources, there is no  restoring d1 on the 4th beat of the bar. The mistake resulted from the way the piano reduction was prepared – the R.H. top voice corresponds to the Violin II part, in which there is no need for a , since it does not feature a d1.
