b. 1

composition: Op. 28 No. 4, Prelude in E minor

in A (→FEEE) & CGS

No indication in As & FC (→GE)

..

The omission of  at the beginning of the piece must be a mistake of the copyist, perhaps provoked by the indication having been placed in A still before the time signature.

b. 1-14

composition: Op. 28 No. 10, Prelude in C♯ minor

Arpeggio signs in A (→FEEE)

No signs in FC (→GE)

..

The omission of 9 out of 20 arpeggios in b. 1-2 and analog. in FC (→GE) resulted from inadvertence, perhaps haste of the copyist. Characteristically, 8 of these oversights fall on the second part of the piece, b. 9-10 and 13-14.

b. 1

composition: Op. 28 No. 22, Prelude in G minor

a-ctied in A (→FEEE)

a-crepeated in FC (→GE1)

ctied in GE2 (→GE3)

..

The missing ties of the a-c1 third must be Fontana's mistake in FC (→GE1). GE2 (→GE3) added only the tie of c1; perhaps it is a result of an incompletely implemented revision – in analogous b. 35 both ties were added.

b. 1

composition: Op. 28 No. 16, Prelude in B♭ minor

6 accents in A (→FE)

No marks in FC (→GE)

6 vertical accents in EE

..

In this bar Fontana overlooked all performance indications except the slur, i.e. , pedalling markings, accents and the staccato dot in the bass.
The change of font for accents in EE was an arbitrary decision typical of that edition.
