Issues : Wedges
b. 1
|
composition: Op. 10 No 11, Etude in E♭ major
..
In the remaining sources the wedge of A (→FE) was recreated as a staccato dot. It is unclear how this divergence surfaced, yet it is not an issue of significance in terms of determining the correct text of the Etude. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , GE revisions , Wedges |

b. 1
|
composition: Op. 50 No. 1, Mazurka in G major
..
In the main text we give a wedge as the staccato mark over the 1st quaver in the R.H. Wedge is present in both preserved autographs, i.e. Afrag and A1. We do so because the engraver of GE1 reproducing the notation of [A2] inaccurately seems to be more likely than a change of this detail while writing [A2] (an example of such an inaccuracy is FE1, in which dots are present wherever A1 clearly features wedges). category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Inaccuracies in FE , Wedges |

b. 2-14
|
composition: Op. 10 No 11, Etude in E♭ major
..
In bars 2-3, 5-6, 10-11 and 13-14 in the main text, we give undeniable wedges written in A (in comparison, Chopin's dots may be seen over the bass notes in bars 1, 5 and analog.). In FE a part of the marks was omitted (in bars 3, 10 and 11) and the rest was interpreted as dots. The changes, according to us, are of a clearly arbitrary nature. GE and EE generally repeat the version of FE, yet they include a dot also in bar 3. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Inaccuracies in FE , GE revisions , Wedges |

b. 2-4
|
composition: Op. 35, Sonata in B♭ minor, Mvt II
..
Staccato dots at the beginning of bars 2 and 4 consist the most glaring example of German engraver's misrepresenting wedges in GC – the difference between wedges there and dots in neighbouring bars 1, 3 & 5-7 is very distinct. GE did not use any wedges in the whole Sonata. The lack of signs in EE is most probably an oversight. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Inaccuracies in GE , Errors in EE , Wedges |
