Chopin wrote the same idea differently while preparing the Sonata for print and while writing an occasional autograph gift fragment of the finale. The version of Afin, although later, can be considered only trivia.

The addition in FED – trill 4 bars – probably means a variant of beginning the Waltz in a way similar to the return of the main section from bar 69. We give each of the variants – four- and eight-bar – in the version with fingering, written also in FED, or without.

As starts right away with accompaniment, which corresponds with bar 5 of the version of later autographs and editions.

The absence of a dynamic indication is most probably an oversight of the engraver of FE. The addition of  in EE was performed probably on the basis of a comparison with bar 91. In turn, the  indication written in FES, in spite of the fact that there are no reasons to question its authenticity, is, however, most probably only an ad hoc lesson comment, correcting the absence of the dynamic indication in FE. Therefore, we do not consider it to be an expression of a general change of the dynamic concept of this introduction.
