In GE3 the e-e1 octave is a quaver, as a result of which the bar has only 7 quavers in the part of the L.H. The rhythmic error proves that the quaver flag in this place was printed by mistake.

The rhythm written on the 2nd beat of the bar both in A1 and the copies of [A2] – CJ and CK (as well as EL) – is either incomplete (missing indication of an irregular group) or erroneous (the semiquavers should have been demisemiquavers). In order to minimise the scope of an editorial intervention, in the main text we suggest the former; the latter was implemented by Balakirev in his copy. In practice, the difference between them is negligible.

In the F sources (PE, FEF and GEF), on the 1st beat in the R.H. there are two parts with an edotted minim in the bottom voice. We consider this version to be erroneous, since the extension of the enote to the 3rd beat interferes harmonically with the enote in the L.H. on the 3rd beat. We adopt a minim for the editorial version of these sources.

In AR, there is a poorly visible e1 minim written in pencil in the bottom voice - it may be a lesson comment.

In FE the dot extending G was omitted. This patent error was corrected both in GE and EE.

In the part of the L.H. A has two crotchets and a quaver, hence the bar has only five quavers. On the basis of the alignment of the notes to the R.H., it turns out that Chopin most probably overlooked the dots extending the first octave. The dots were added in a proofing of FE (→GE,EE).
