The pianistically unjustified absence of accurate pedal markings in FE (→GE1) in these bars points to likely inaccuracy of notation. One of the reasons could be the lack of space at the bottom of the page (in FE and in the remaining editions bar 72 opens the last line of the text). In EEW and GE2 (→GE3) pedal marks were added, arbitrary and completely misconceived. In the main text we add a fermata in the L.H. part, required due to the parallel nature of the temporal course of both parts. The mark was also added in GE and EEW.
