In EEW the bottom notes of the L.H. chords (a) were separated from the remaining ones, written down on the top stave, which thus seem to belong to the R.H. part. Perhaps it contributed to the omission of the 
to g1 at the beginning of the bar – looking only at the alleged R.H. part on the top stave, one could assume that g
1 would be more natural for the harmonic course.
