Issues : Errors repeated in EE
b. 5

composition: Op. 63 No. 1, Mazurka in B major
..
The missing e1 note in the R.H. in FE (→GE,EE) seems to be an oversight by the engraver, since analogous motifs are generally led in thirds. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Errors in FE , Errors repeated in GE , Errors repeated in EE |

b. 7-15
|
composition: Op. 63 No. 1, Mazurka in B major
..
In bars 7 and 15 the sources do not contain sharps over the mordents. There are no doubts as to the sound of the top note, while the notation is inaccurate, as usual in such situations in Chopin's works (in bar 7 it concerns only AI and GE3 due to the misplaced mark in the remaining sources). In the versions 'edited text' and in the main text we add the absent accidentals. category imprint: Interpretations within context issues: Errors in FE , Accidentals in different octaves , GE revisions , Errors repeated in GE , Errors repeated in EE |

b. 58

composition: Op. 63 No. 1, Mazurka in B major
..
As in bars 53-56, the division of the initial slur of AI into 3 shorter ones, encompassing particular motifs, is an element of the change of the general concept of slurring of the middle section of the Mazurka. The missing slur in bar 58 in FE (→GE1,EE) is probably an oversight, corrected in GE2 (→GE3). category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Errors in FE , GE revisions , Errors repeated in GE , Errors repeated in EE |

b. 79-80

composition: Op. 63 No. 1, Mazurka in B major
..
It is difficult to say whether the shorter slur of AI defines an actual variant of articulation of this motif or – which, according to us, is more likely – whether it is inaccurate or erroneous (e.g. written with bar 81 in mind). The additional, short slur in FE (→GE1,EE) is most probably a mistake, perhaps caused by unclear notation of [A] (e.g. a correction to the rhythm and slurring present in AI two bars later). Its presence next to the longer, undoubtedly correct slur therefore probably resulted from the fact that the engraver did not finish implementing the corrections Chopin introduced while proofreading FE1 (the engraver added the correct slur, but did not remove the erroneous one). The shorter slur was considered erroneous and omitted also in GE2 (→GE3). category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations issues: Errors in FE , Chopin's hesitations , GE revisions , Errors repeated in GE , Errors repeated in EE |
