composition: Op. 63 No. 1, Mazurka in B major

In AI Chopin continues the division into a melodic voice, encompassed with a slur, and accompanying voices, provided with staccato dots over the parts of both hands. It is only in bar 41 that a dot is missing, over the E-e octave, which must have resulted from the lack of space between the L.H. e and the R.H. g. In the content transcription (version 'edited text') we add this mark. category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations issues: Errors in FE , GE revisions |

composition: Op. 63 No. 1, Mazurka in B major
..
In the main text we add a cautionary to b, as it was performed in GE3. The accidental is also in AI, perhaps by mistake, since it does not include the necessary lowering a to a. category imprint: Differences between sources; Editorial revisions issues: GE revisions , Cautionary accidentals , Omission of current key accidentals , Accidental below/above the note , Last key signature sign |

According to us, the slur ending in FE (→EEC) before the last note of the motif is inaccurate, most probably due to a wrong interpretation of the notation of [A]. The range of the short slurs encompassing particular motifs introduced in this autograph could have seemed obvious to Chopin, which probably resulted in hasty, not very careful notation. The arguments for leading the slur to the B crotchet are the slur of AI in this place and the slur of FE in a similar motif in bar 54. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: GE revisions , EE inaccuracies |

composition: Op. 63 No. 1, Mazurka in B major
..
As in bars 53-56, the division of the initial slur of AI into 3 shorter ones, encompassing particular motifs, is an element of the change of the general concept of slurring of the middle section of the Mazurka. The missing slur in bar 58 in FE (→GE1,EE) is probably an oversight, corrected in GE2 (→GE3). category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Errors in FE , GE revisions , Errors repeated in GE , Errors repeated in EE |
