A after FE1 (→GE1GE2)

..

As was the case with d/d in bars 58-60, 62 and 63, the version of FE1 with A on the last quaver in the bar is almost certainly erroneous. Chopin did not include in the notation the necessary  after the change of the key signature in bar 33, which is proven by the compliance of the versions (written down differently) of AI and FE2 (→EE), which was proofread by Chopin. The version of FE1 was repeated in GE1 (→GE2), while the  added in GE3 was most probably drawn from FE2.

Minim in AI

Dotted rhythm with quaver d in FE1

Dotted rhythm with quaver d after FE1

Dotted rhythm with quaver d in FE2 (→EE) & GE

Dotted rhythm with quaver d after FE2 (→EE) & GE

..

The version of AI with an f minim was replaced by Chopin in [A] by the version of FE (→GE,EE) with a dotted rhythm. However, in FE1, as in bars 58-60, Chopin almost certainly forgot about the  raising d to d in the last quaver, as a result of which it is a d. He added this sharp while proofreading FE2 (→EE); the accidental was also independently added by the reviser of GE, and this is the version we give in the main text.

f1 in b. 65-66 in AI

One dotted minim f1 in b. 65 in FE1 (→GE1GE2)

f1 in b. 65-67 in FE2 (→EEC) & GE3

f1 repeated in b. 67 in EEW

..

It is uncertain whether the version of FE1 (→GE1GE2) is authentic, since the Chopinesque proofreading of FE2 could have only added the marks overlooked by the engraver. If, however, FE1 reproduced the [A] notation correctly, the differences between the three source versions would mean that Chopin hesitated to the very end how long the f1 note should be sustained here. The EEW version probably resulted from an oversight by the tie to f1 by the engraver, while the GE3 version almost certainly stems from FE2.

EEW does not contain the  raising d2 to d2, which must be an oversight by the engraver. The corresponding accidental in FE was almost certainly added in the last stage of proofreading FE1, hence initially it was also absent in GE1, in which it was added in print along with a few other sharps. This can be deduced from the fact that both FE1 and GE1 did not provide space for this accidental before the note; therefore, in both editions it must have been added only just in the stage of proofreading the already printed text.

Rests & F-f crotchet in AI

3 crotchets including F1-F in FE1 (→GE)

3 octaves including F1-F in FE2 (→EE)

..

With respect to the version of AI, in the published text the transition to the G minor chord in bar 73 was enriched by a chromatic bass sequence: F-F-G. However, the goal of the Chopinesque correction to FE2 (→EE) remains unclear – on the one hand, combining (with an added stem) the R.H. f quaver with the L.H. F crotchet prolongs the sound of f, which, however, is poorly audible in this register along with the prescribed pedalling, but on the other hand it also suggests that this f should be performed with the L.H., which could be regarded as facilitating the R.H. part.
