Arpeggio sign in AI

Acciaccatura in FE (→EEW)

Appoggiatura in GE & EEC

Our suggestion

Taking into account the fact that in AI each third bar of the thematic eight-bar section (bars 3, 11, 71 and 79) always includes an arpeggio, while in the editions three out of four of these places, it seems almost certain that its absence here in FE resulted from an oversight. Due to the above, we give it directly in the main text.

The change of the short grace note to a long one in GE and EEC is a manner of the engravers of these editions – see the further note in this bar.
