b. 153

composition: Op. 23, Ballade in G minor

..

In A, the  to the 2nd quaver (e2) and 3 naturals to the 5th crotchet in the bar (B-b and b1) are missing. All accidentals were already added by FE (→GE,EE). In the main text we also add cautionary naturals to g2 and a2. The latter was also added by EE.

b. 154

composition: Op. 23, Ballade in G minor

..

In A (→FE), there is no accidental to the last quaver. In this context, it is a patent inaccuracy by Chopin, who would often consider the accidentals defined in the first octave of a scale or passage to be valid in subsequent octaves too (cf. the next bar or, e.g. the Prelude in D minor, Op. 28 No. 24, b. 18). Both GE and EE added a sharp here.

b. 155

composition: Op. 23, Ballade in G minor

..

In the entire descending passage, there is not a single accidental in A. FE added only a  to the 6th quaver (c3); the fact that it was only the 1st octave of the passage that was proofread may indicate Chopin as the initiator of the procedure. GE and EE added all the necessary sharps.

L.H. long accent in A

in FE (→EE)

R.H. short accent in GE

..

The typical long accent over the L.H. chord was reproduced by FE (→EE) as a short  hairpin under the R.H. part, correlated with the  in the previous bar. In GE, the mark was distorted to an even greater extent – it was provided with the form of a short accent under e3.
