Issues : Omission of current key accidentals

b. 153

composition: Op. 23, Ballade in G minor

..

In A, the  to the 2nd quaver (e2) and 3 naturals to the 5th crotchet in the bar (B-b and b1) are missing. All accidentals were already added by FE (→GE,EE). In the main text we also add cautionary naturals to g2 and a2. The latter was also added by EE.

b. 155

composition: Op. 23, Ballade in G minor

..

In the entire descending passage, there is not a single accidental in A. FE added only a  to the 6th quaver (c3); the fact that it was only the 1st octave of the passage that was proofread may indicate Chopin as the initiator of the procedure. GE and EE added all the necessary sharps.

b. 181-187

composition: Op. 23, Ballade in G minor

..

In A, the flats lowering a1 to a1 in b. 181 and 184-187 and a to a in b. 183 and 186-187 are missing. These patent inaccuracies were already corrected by FE (→GE,EE).

b. 231

composition: Op. 23, Ballade in G minor

..

In A there are no accidentals to the first L.H. octave, while the  lowering a to a is only just before the 2nd crotchet. Chopin's mistake is evidenced by the  before the bottom note of the last octave in this bar, which would be irrational if the 1st octave were supposed to be A-a (naturally, the mistake is also evidenced by the logic of the chromatic bass sequence). The mistake of A was carefully corrected by FE (→GE,EE) – flats were added to the 1st octave and the consequently superfluous accidental to a in the 2nd crotchet was removed.
