Issues : Authentic corrections of FE
b. 36
|
composition: Op. 44, Polonaise in F♯ minor
..
The note b visible in GE in the chord on the 4th quaver of the bar was probably removed by Chopin while proofreading FE1 (→FE2,EE1). A respective correction was not performed in analogous b. 269, which presumably made the reviser of EE2 restore the initial version. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Authentic corrections of FE |

b. 44
|
composition: Op. 44, Polonaise in F♯ minor
..
In the main text we include the c notes that Chopin (almost certainly) added to the four quaver chords while proofreading FE (→EE). category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Authentic corrections of FE |

b. 45
|
composition: Op. 44, Polonaise in F♯ minor
..
The cautionary to e1 is missing in GE (a similar situation can be found in b. 71). In both places the accidentals were probably entered into FE at the stage of proofreading, since they are absent in b. 278 and 304, which were almost certainly not written out in full in the manuscripts, only marked as a repetition of b. 45 and 71. The absence of respective amendments in the final part of the Polonaise may point to Chopin as author of those additions. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Cautionary accidentals , Authentic corrections of FE |

b. 49-50
|
composition: Op. 44, Polonaise in F♯ minor
..
As was the case with b. 23-24 and analogous, we base the main text on FE, which was proofread by Chopin; we only omit the d note, which was certainly added by mistake to the A-a demisemiquaver in b. 50. That note was also abandoned by EE2 (→EE3), probably on the basis of a comparison with analogous b. 283. category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations issues: EE revisions , Inaccuracies in FE , Accompaniment changes , Authentic corrections of FE , Errors repeated in EE |

b. 50-52
|
composition: Op. 44, Polonaise in F♯ minor
..
In the main text we suggest the markings of FE (→EE) for the chordal section (beginning with the syncopated crotchet); it is possible to supplement them with the staccato dot drawn from GE (present in analogous b. 25). category imprint: Differences between sources; Editorial revisions issues: Authentic corrections of FE |
