The lack of indicating when to release the pedal written in A (→GE→FE→EE) in bar 20 need not be regarded an oversight. It is possible that Chopin envisaged a gradual releasing of pedal, difficult to mark precisely, or wanted to leave the way music fades out at the discretion of the performer.
