In GE the middle note of the 2nd triplet is a d1. A comparison with analogous b. 4, which features an e1 in the respective place, suggests a mistake. That assumption is confirmed by the notation of FC, which served as Stichvorlage for GE1 – the note is written there inaccurately, clearly lower than e1, two semiquavers earlier. Without access to the manuscripts – A features an unequivocal e1 in this place – one could only assume a mistake, since the sound of the version with d1 does not give rise to any objections, while deviations from regular figurations are quite frequent in the output of Chopin.
