b. 171

composition: Op. 50 No. 3, Mazurka in C♯ minor

..

AI is lacking in the  lowering d1 to d1. We regard it as the composer's oversight – after two multiple progressions, in which the 1st note of the bar is a fourth higher than the preceding one, Chopin could have considered d1 to be obvious here.

b. 172

composition: Op. 50 No. 3, Mazurka in C♯ minor

..

In the main text we add a cautionary  before d1. It was also added in EE. We also include the cautionary  before g2 present in AI and AF (→FEEE).

b. 183-184

composition: Op. 50 No. 3, Mazurka in C♯ minor

Slur suggested by the editors

..

In the main text we suggest adding a slur after the previous phrase.

b. 189

composition: Op. 50 No. 3, Mazurka in C♯ minor

g1 in AI & AF (→FEEE)

c1 in GE

..

c1 as the last quaver in the bar is almost certainly a mistake of GE. There is no reason to change the characteristic signal motif recalled here. While inserting this note, the engraver could have confused this bar with the next one.

b. 189

composition: Op. 50 No. 3, Mazurka in C♯ minor

g in AI

g in AF (→FEEE)

No g in GE

..

In the main text we give the version of GE, in which the performance indications are most accurate (slur, staccato dot and  hairpin in b. 189-191). According to us, the omission of the g quaver is to be considered a continuation of the changes, which are evidenced by crossings-out and corrections visible in AI in b. 185-189.
