  b. 59-60

Slur to g1 in A1 (→FEEE)

Slur to f1 in GE

The traces of correction of the ending of the slur visible in GE1 – the removed slur reached only g1 in b. 59, so just like in A1 (→FEEE) – suggest that we are dealing with Chopin's proofreading. Moreover, the change seems to be related to both the change of rhythm in b. 59 and the removal of d1 at the beginning of b. 60, which could have been introduced only by Chopin. It gives an idea of a complex correction of that place introduced into the print of GE1. However, the above scenario is not certain: the removed slur ended precisely over the g1 quaver, which clearly suggests that the rhythm had already been changed. Therefore, it may be likely that Chopin proofread in GE1 only the slur and the beginning of b. 60. However, the above concept does not have to be true either, as a result of which the issue of possible Chopinesque proofreading in GE1 remains open. On the other hand, it absolutely does not affect the authenticity of the version of GE, which may have simply come from [A2].
