b. 492
|
composition: Op. 31, Scherzo in B♭ minor
..
In the main text we add a cautionary before c2. The mark was added also in GE2 (→GE3). In A one can see here a crossing-out, perhaps of a , which would be another dispensable accidental crossed out by Chopin (see b. 490-491). A sharp was added in FESf. category imprint: Differences between sources; Editorial revisions issues: Annotations in teaching copies , GE revisions , Cautionary accidentals , Deletions in A , Annotations in FESf |

b. 497
|
composition: Op. 31, Scherzo in B♭ minor
..
In the main text we add a cautionary before f2. In analogous b. 493 the accidental is present in A and all the remaining sources. Moreover, Chopin probably hesitated in that respect, since the crossing-out visible there probably concerns the before that note, which means that it must have been entered twice. category imprint: Differences between sources; Editorial revisions; Source & stylistic information issues: Chopin's hesitations , GE revisions , Cautionary accidentals , Deletions in A |

b. 500-504
|
composition: Op. 31, Scherzo in B♭ minor
..
In the main text we add cautionary sharps before f2 in b. 500 and 502 and f1 in b. 504. In b. 502 Chopin started writing a in A, yet he quickly abandoned it and crossed out the germ of that accidental. The accidentals were gradually added in GE: in b. 500 already in GE1, while in the remaining ones – in GE2 (→GE3). The sharp in b. 500 was added also in FESf. category imprint: Differences between sources; Editorial revisions; Source & stylistic information issues: Annotations in teaching copies , GE revisions , Cautionary accidentals , Deletions in A , Annotations in FESf |

b. 501-503
|
composition: Op. 31, Scherzo in B♭ minor
..
In the main text we add a cautionary before b2 in b. 501. In A one can see that Chopin crossed out that accidental; however, he inserted a before b1 in an analogous situation in b. 505. The accidental was added also in EE and GE2 (→GE3). Moreover, we remove the poorly justified before b on the 3rd beat of b. 503, present in all sources. In this context Chopin was also inconsistent, since he did not write a in b. 501. category imprint: Differences between sources; Editorial revisions; Source & stylistic information issues: GE revisions , Cautionary accidentals , Deletions in A |

b. 521-522
|
composition: Op. 31, Scherzo in B♭ minor
..
A (→FC→GE1) includes a cautionary before the lowest note of the 1st chord, a, in both bars. FE (→EE) and GE2 (→GE3) omitted that in b. 522. In the main text we do not include any of those unjustified accidentals. category imprint: Differences between sources; Editorial revisions issues: GE revisions , Cautionary accidentals , FE revisions |
