FE overlooked the lowering c3 to c3. The mistake was rectified in EE and in two teaching copies, FED and FESf. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: Annotations in teaching copies , EE revisions , Errors in FE , Annotations in FED , Annotations in FESf |

In A the mark is at the end of the page, squeezed above the deleted marks. It was probably the reason for its omission in FE. The mark was added in EE at the end of the R.H. passage. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Errors in FE , Deletions in A |

In the main text we give the pedalling of A, the only irrefutably authentic. The missing pedalling in FC (→GE) may be a result of an oversight of the copyist: overlooked slurs suggest distraction. It is also likely that Chopin added it in A after having prepared FC. The missing mark seems to be an oversight of the engraver of FE. The oversight can result in a long, more or less four-bar pedal, to which this virtuoso passage in loud dynamics prompts. Such a pedalling was indicated – arbitrarily – in GE2 and removed in GE3. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Errors in FE , GE revisions , No pedal release mark , Errors of FC |

The missing staccato dot in FE and GE1 must be a result of the engravers' oversights (the engraver of GE1 can be excused, since it is difficult to identify the mark in FC). The accent added in GE2 (→GE3) by analogy with the next bars is an arbitrary revision. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Errors in FE , Errors in GE , GE revisions |
