In A one can see that Chopin initially wrote sempre piu stretto as an agogic indication for this eight-bar section (over the top stave). According to us, cresc. between the staves was written at the same time, which is indicated by the fact that both indications begin at the same moment of the bar. Chopin then decided to merge both indications by deleting sempre piu stretto above and adding stretto e before cresc.
