in bar 246 in FE (→EE)

 & - - - , our alternative suggestion

Chopin added  in b. 246 in the proofreading of FE, thus confirming such a position of the indication: see the note to analogous b. 114-117. On the other hand, the marks written by Chopin in FC are also consistent, and in the case of  in b. 249, visibly supported by a critical look at the final result of additions: Chopin crossed out the previously written  there. In the main text we give the indications of FC, which are a part of a numerous set of indications encompassing the entire theme, which ends here. As an alternative solution we also suggest, next to the version of FE, adding dashes leading cresc. to  in b. 249 in FC, as written by Chopin in analogous b. 109-116. The missing  indication may be a mistake of GE1, whereas the version of GE2 (→GE3) was entirely repeated after FC in b. 114-117 (cf. b. 235-238).
