In bars 65-117 and analogous bars 197-249 & 648-708 we give dynamic markings from FC (→GE1), in which they were added by Chopin and create a thought-out, comprehensive conception. In the first of these three sections alone the composer inscribed 11 or
signs and two multi-bar cresc. - - -, ending with a
marking in bar 81 and
in bar 117. In A there was originally only
in bars 197-198, and later, already after the completion of FC, Chopin added
in bar 114. In FE (→EE) he further added
in bar 246 and cresc. in bars 110-113, 241-245 and 693-708. These fragmentary supplements remain basically in accordance with the substantially more numerous markings recorded in FC.
GE2 (→GE3) revised the indications of GE1 by slightly changing their range, in most cases adjusting them to the entire bars. In a few places of the second and third sections, markings were changed or added in keeping with the corresponding bars of the first.
