In FE, the motifs in the R.H. in bars 456-457, 460-461, 464-465 and 468-469 are provided with slurs in seven out of eight cases (except bar 469). Out of the seven bars, two (bars 460 and 465) are provided with slurs encompassing the semiquaver triplet only, while one (bar 461) – the entire figure. In the remaining four, the slurs reach the fourth that tops the passage, which we consider to be most probably intended in all cases. In bars 456-457, we additionally correct the placement of the ending of the slur so that it reaches the top note of the fourth, in accordance with the musical and pianistic sense, and not the bottom one, which would suggest it concerning the bottom note only.
In the remaining editions, the slurs of FE underwent minor modifications:
- GE1 (→GE2) shortened the slur in bar 468, perhaps under the influence of such a slur in bar 460;
- GE3 left unchanged only the first pair of bars, those slurs were then considered when the pair reappeared (bars 464-465). In bar 460, the slur was prolonged, while in bar 461 it was shortened. In bar 469, a slur was added modelled after the previous one;
- EE shortened only the slur in bar 461, making it encompass the semiquaver triplet only.
