Issues : Long accents

b. 46

composition: Op. 11, Concerto in E minor, Mvt II

Short accent in FE (→GE,EE)

Long accent suggested by the editors

..

In the main text, we suggest a long accent after analogous bars 48 and 95. It is a typical context for long accents, hence we can safely assume that the notation in those two bars conveys the notation of [A] in a more faithful manner.

b. 96

composition: Op. 11, Concerto in E minor, Mvt II

2 accents in FE (→EE)

1 accent in GE

One can ponder what type of accents Chopin meant in this bar – the markings are slightly longer than the undoubtedly short accent in bar 99, but clearly shorter than those in bar 94 (over e4) and 95 (over e). Due to this reason, we assume that they are short accents. The absence of the second marking in GE may be an oversight.
