Fontana's fingering in EE

..

The digit written over the dgrace note in FEH does not determine the fingering of the 2nd beat of bar 182, so it is difficult to state whether the writing person (we do not think it was Chopin) envisioned there the fingering indicated by Fontana in EE

Fontana's fingering in EE

Like the last digit in bar 141, the '2' written in FEH may be considered to be Chopinesque, hence we include it in the main text. It implies a different fingering than the one given by Fontana in EE.

Fingering written into FED

..

Fontana's fingering is almost certainly identical with the indication in FED, stemming from a lesson with Chopin. In that copy, apart from the evident digit '2,' written twice in a way typical of FED, first by Chopin, then by Madame Dubois, there is a visible delicate line next to the aquaver. The mark could be interpreted as a digit '1,' yet it is uncertain, hence in the main text, we give only the '2' described above.
