Issues : Cautionary accidentals
b. 455
|
composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt III
..
In A the only accidental before the 1st chord in the R.H. is the cautionary before e2. From the musical point of view, the version with d3 would be possible, yet a comparison with analogous bar 425 and a of d3 added – probably by Chopin – already in GE1 (→FE→EE, →GE2) prove Chopin's mistake. Chopin committed the same mistake in a similar context in bar 423. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources; Editorial revisions issues: Cautionary accidentals , Omission of current key accidentals , Errors of A , Authentic corrections of GE , Last key signature sign |

b. 462-463
|
composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt III
..
Just like in bars 422-423, the flats lowering e3 to e3 and the cautionary before e2 in the L.H. in bar 463 prove that the version of A (→GE→FE1), interpreted literally, is erroneous. In EE, a respective is only in bar 463 (together with a before e2), which is probably a result of an oversight of the sign in bar 462. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: Errors in EE , Cautionary accidentals , Omission of current key accidentals , Errors of A , Authentic corrections of FE |

b. 470
|
composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt III
..
A features a cautionary before e3 in the last triplet, yet the necessary lowering d3 to d3 is missing. A flat was added already in GE1 (→FE→EE, →GE2), however, no source removed the superfluous . category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: Accidentals in different octaves , GE revisions , Cautionary accidentals , Last key signature sign , Inaccuracies in A |

b. 481
|
composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt III
..
We preserve the cautionary before a2 in the 2nd chord of the bar, due to a in the previous bar. However, Chopin most probably wrote it to cancel a2, used in the original version of the notation of the 1st chord. In the main text we also add a cautionary before c. category imprint: Editorial revisions; Corrections & alterations issues: Corrections in A , Cautionary accidentals |

b. 482
|
composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt III
..
The cautionary before e3 written in A (→GE1) is probably a remaining element of the original notation, in which the previous chord included e3. In FE (→EE) and GE2 the unnecessary sign was removed. EE added cautionary naturals before g1 and g2. category imprint: Differences between sources; Editorial revisions issues: EE revisions , GE revisions , Cautionary accidentals |
