Issues : Errors in FE

b. 220

composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt III

 above staff in A

 between staves in GE

No mark in FE (→EE)

..

Same as in the previous bar, the  sign was moved to between the staves and slightly shifted (this time to the right). The absence of the sign in FE (→EE) can be explained by an oversight; however, it cannot be excluded that Chopin removed the hairpin as a part of the proofreading of the part of the L.H. According to us, even if it were Chopin's proofreading, it did not concern the sign written in A, applying only to the part of the R.H.

b. 243

composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt III

..

In FE the last chord has a quaver stem. The absence of rest, required if the chord was shortened, proves that it is a mistake, probably stemming from a misunderstanding at the time of implementing extensive proofreading of pitch and rhythmic values in bars 243-244.

b. 243

composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt III

..

In A there is no  before the 1st crotchet. The patent inadvertence was corrected in GE (→FEEE).
In FE there is no  lowering g to g on the 2nd beat of the bar. It must be a side effect of an inaccurately implemented proofreading of the part of the L.H. encompassing bars 243-244. The mistake was corrected in EE.

b. 244

composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt III

Long accent in A

Short accent in GE

No mark in FE (→EE)

..

The change of the type of accent in GE is a very frequent inaccuracy in Chopin first editions. The absence of the accent in FE (→EE) is probably one of the mistakes committed while proofreading bars 243-244 – cf. notes in the previous bar.

b. 252

composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt III

e1-a1 in A (→GE)

c1-a1 in FE (→EE)

..

The c1-a1 sixth is most probably a mistake of the engraver of FE (→EE). It is difficult to assume that Chopin would like to replace the sequence of three voices of the accompaniment, compliant with all rules, with a parallel shift of chords, sounding worse.
