composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt III

In the main text we omit the cautionary naturals before eat the beginning of bars 413 and 415 and before ein bar 413. Although the change of key to F major was confirmed by the key signature, on a number of occasions, Chopin wrote unjustified naturals before e notes also later – cf. e.g. bars 424 or 428.

composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt III

In the sources, the cautionary  at the beginning of the bar is before B in the bass, yet it is absent before bin the R.H., where it is more justified. It seems that Chopin did not combine these two elements:

  • the sign in the R.H. did not seem to be necessary, same as the  returning g2 on the 3rd beat of this bar was overlooked – Chopin heard and wrote both voices independently.
  • the sign in the L.H. was copied while correcting this note from the original d, which makes it a momentum error – the correction is proved by a visible deletion of this note (see also corrections in analogous bars 461-462).

In the main text we remove the  in the L.H. and add it in the R.H.

Differently than in analogous bar 426, there is no cautionary  before b in A (→GE1FEEE), yet there is a  before e1, unnecessary in this context. In GE2, a  was added to the . In the main text we give a more logical notation, used by Chopin in bar 426 as well as in two analogous places (bars 466 and 468).
The sources include a superfluous  also before ein the R.H. Cf. bars 413-415.
