The earlier beginning of the slur in GE1 (→FE→EE) has no musical justification and is an example of the schematic approach to slurs of the engraver of GE1. The simultaneous oversight of the staccato dot at the beginning of bar 213 in this edition probably contributed to the fact that the erroneous range of this slur was not detected in later editions.
