The slurs and dots adopted by us were introduced – most probably by Chopin – in the proofreading of GE (→FE→EE). (FE overlooked the slur in bar 182.) There are no dots in A, and the slurs are marked inaccurately, so that it is uncertain whether they are supposed to encompass the whole bars or only the 2nd and 3rd crotchets. Similarly in bars 353-360.
