There are no doubts that the sign written in A marks also an accent, emphasising the beginning of an enhanced variant of the phrase heard two bars earlier. Missing dots in the majority of the editions are a result of inaccuracy of the engraver of GE1 (→FE→EE). The signs were added in GE2.
