Slurs from 2nd quaver in A & GE2

Slurs from 1st quaver in GE1 (→FEEE)

In A, the range of the slurs in the four-quaver figures of the accompaniment in this and subsequent bars (bars 159-168) is related to the presence of staccato dots on the first quavers of the groups: the slurs begin from the 1st quaver when there is no dot (in bars 161 and 163), and from the second one when there is one (the remaining bars). The signs, although written hastily, are generally unambiguous; possible inaccuracies and mistakes – the 2nd half of bar 160 and bars 161-162, 164 and 167 – are discussed separately. In GE1 (→FEEE), the fact of embracing these figures with half-bar slurs is one of many examples of the schematic approach of the engraver of GE1. GE2 returned the notation of A.
