g2 instead of f2 at the last quaver of the bar is certainly a mistake of Chopin in [A]. It is proved by the before the note, present both in FE1 (→FE2) and GC, which originally also included g2. Chopin corrected the mistake in GC and the proofreading of FE3 (→FE4). The erroneous version was passed down to EE1, in which it was revised, by deleting the , which was superfluous before g2. category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations issues: Errors in FE , Inaccurate note pitch in A , Authentic corrections of FE , Authentic corrections in GC |

At the beginning of the 2nd half of the bar before the bottom note of the second, GC and FE1 (→FE2) have one before each of the notes instead of . This easy to detect mistake – none of these flats is necessary at this pitch, whereas a1 appears in the part of the L.H. – was corrected in GE, by adding another before the bottom note. The correct notation is included in FE3 (→FE4) and EE, which in both cases could have been a result of Chopin's intervention. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations issues: EE revisions , Errors in FE , Accidentals in different octaves , GE revisions , Authentic corrections of FE , Errors of GC , Authentic corrections of EE |

It is hard to state whether the added – probably by Chopin – in FE4 was a correction of a mistake or a change of the concept. The slurring of particular sources seems to convey Chopin's idea only approximately. In the main text, we suggest an interpretation of the slurs of GC based on the slurs written in a more precise manner in analogous bars 57-60. FE1 (→FE2) features an E as the 1st note in the L.H. This striking mistake was corrected only in FE3 (→FE4) and EE. In spite of the fact that it was Chopin that prepared both the proofreading of FE3 and the base text to EE, this kind of correction could have been prepared also by a reviser. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: Errors in FE , Authentic corrections of FE , Authentic corrections of EE |
