in bar 101, added by Chopin in the proofreading of FE3 (→FE4), is certainly the latest decision of Chopin, as far as the placement of this indication is concerned. It was repeated also in EE2. The sign in GC in bar 97 could have also been added by Chopin. Therefore, both versions seem to be equal. The absence of the sign in GE1 is most probably an oversight. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Errors in GE , GE revisions , Authentic corrections of FE , Authentic corrections in GC |

b. 100-103
|
composition: Op. 35, Sonata in B♭ minor, Mvt I
..
The absence of the hairpins (denoting long accents, which is obvious particularly in the notation of bar 101 in GC) is best attributed to the engraver's distraction. The signs were added in GE2. b. 101-104
|
composition: Op. 35, Sonata in B♭ minor, Mvt I

The slur over the pair of chords, written in GC, was overlooked in GE. The absence of the sign in FE means that the slur in EE must have been added by Chopin in the base text to this edition. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Errors in GE , Authentic corrections of EE |

b. 106-107
|
composition: Op. 35, Sonata in B♭ minor, Mvt I
..
In b. 106 and 107, some or all bottom voice rests were overlooked in various sources: They seem to be the engravers' oversights (in EE and GE, it is also revisions that are likely – cf. b. 115). GC is provided with a detailed two-part notation, which we give in the main text. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Errors in FE , Errors in EE , Errors in GE |
