Issues : Errors in FE
b. 28
|
composition: Op. 35, Sonata in B♭ minor, Mvt I
..
In FE1 (→FE2) the top note of the last chord in the R.H. is a b1. It is certainly a mistake, corrected, perhaps by Chopin, in the proofreading of FE3 and base text to EE. The remaining sources also include the correct c2. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Errors in FE , Authentic corrections of FE |

b. 37-38
|
composition: Op. 35, Sonata in B♭ minor, Mvt I
..
The accents under the minims of the middle voice of the R.H. are in GC (both) and FE (→EE) – only in bar 37. The missing signs were most probably overlooked as a result of an oversight or misunderstanding. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Errors in FE , Errors in GE |

b. 37-39
|
composition: Op. 35, Sonata in B♭ minor, Mvt I
..
The slur in bar 37 in FE reaches the end of line, suggesting a continuation, however, there is no slur in bar 38. It is certainly a mistake because the slur in [A] looked most probably as the one carefully written in GC. Possibly authentic is also the longer slur in EE – Chopin could have written it while proofreading the basis to this edition. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Errors in FE , Uncertain slur continuation , Authentic corrections of EE |

b. 39
|
composition: Op. 35, Sonata in B♭ minor, Mvt I
..
[A] most probably included wedges, as Gutmann considered them to be staccato dots on a number of occasions (cf., e.g., the Etude in F major, Op. 25 No. 3, bars 49-52). Chopin wedges were actually often misinterpreted as dots also by the engravers, in turn, misinterpretation of dots as wedges was almost inexistent. Therefore, in the main text we give wedges, added in FE2 (→EE,FE3→FE4) most probably on the basis of [A]. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Errors in FE , FE revisions , Wedges , Inaccuracies in GC |

b. 44-48
|
composition: Op. 35, Sonata in B♭ minor, Mvt I
..
In bars 44 and 48 FE1 has no naturals before the 2nd crotchet. A double mistake of the engraver is proved by the flats before the last notes in these bars. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: Errors in FE , FE revisions |
