b. 101-102

composition: Op. 35, Sonata in B♭ minor, Mvt I

..

The E1-E octave in GC and FE is written in an abbreviated manner with the help of 8.

b. 101-104

composition: Op. 35, Sonata in B♭ minor, Mvt I

..

The pedalling of the last two chords of the exposition is marked in the sources inaccurately or erroneously. In FE there is no  sign in bar 101. In GC (→GE1) the change of pedal is written only at the transition between bars 103 and 104. FE and GE1 do not include any  sign in bar 104, whereas in GC and EE the asterisk is at the end of the 2nd volta, while in GE2 at the end of the first one.

Slur in GC & EE

No slur in FE & GE

..

The slur over the pair of chords, written in GC, was overlooked in GE. The absence of the sign in FE means that the slur in EE must have been added by Chopin in the base text to this edition.

b. 104

composition: Op. 35, Sonata in B♭ minor, Mvt I

No slur in GC (→GE) & FE1 (→FE2EE1)

Slur in FE3 (→FE4) & EE2

Slur suggested by the editors

..

The slur in the 2nd volta was added by Chopin in the proofreading of FE3 (→FE4). In the main text we consider it – in accordance with the sense – as continuation of the slur in bars 101-104.

composition: Op. 35, Sonata in B♭ minor, Mvt I

Double bar-line in GC

Single bar-line in FE (→EE) & GE

..

The double bar line is most probably a routine addition of the copyist. Its absence in GE is most probably a mistake.
