funèbre in GC (→GE), FE1 (→FE2EE) & FE5

No designation in FE3 (→FE4)

The fact of removing the programme indication of Marche's character in the proofreading of FE3 (→FE4) can be certainly ascribed to Chopin. The composer replaced it with a neutral tempo indication, Lento. The original indication funèbre was restored, for understandable reasons, in FE5 – the edition was prepared shortly after Chopin's funeral.
