While writing to Fontana in August 1839, Chopin described this movement of the Sonata as "a short finale." The omission of the convention "Finale" title in FE (→EE1) seems to be, therefore, a common oversight.

Chopin wrote the same idea differently while preparing the Sonata for print and while writing an occasional autograph gift fragment of the finale. The version of Afin, although later, can be considered only trivia.
