b. 133-134

composition: Op. 64 No 2, Waltz in C♯ minor

 in A

 in FE (→EEW1EEW2)

No sign in GE1op (→GE2opGE3op) & GE1no2

 in EEC & GE2no2

..

The lack of the  hairpin in the majority of GE is probably a result of an oversight of the engraver of FE, which was then corrected in the very FE (→EE). The sign was added in GE2no2 too. We reproduce the range of the sign on the basis of the notation of A. Cf. bars 3-4.

b. 138-139

composition: Op. 64 No 2, Waltz in C♯ minor

Slur from 2nd quaver in A (→FEEEW1EEW2)

No slur in GE1op & GE1no2

Slur from 1st quaver in EEC, GE2op (→GE3op) & GE2no2

..

The absence of the slur in both versions of GE1 means that most probably it was originally absent in FE too, in which, however, it was added – probably by Chopin – in the last phase of proofreading. The slurs added in later GE, embracing two full bars, are a result of a revision, same as in bars 10-11. In turn, an earlier beginning of the slur in EEC may be simply an inaccuracy.

Similarly as in bars 33-44 (in the autographs the discussed bars are not written out), we reproduce the range of the  hairpins in the main text on the basis of A. In FE the first 4 signs correspond with the range to the notation of A, however, the next are slightly longer. The remaining editions include signs of the same, six-quaver length.
