The version of GC (→GE) was most probably taken into account by Chopin in all Stichvorlage manuscripts, which is indicated by the presence of before f on the last semiquaver of the bar both in GC and EE and FE, in which, however, the sign was removed at the time of proofreading. At the same time, the proofreading proves that the version of FE – with f on the 2nd semiquaver of the last group, preserving the harmonic regularity of the figuration – was eventually approved by Chopin as valid.
