Lack of the 
sign in GC (→GE1) may be a result of omission of this copy by Chopin at the time of completing the Stichvorlage manuscripts or of the copyist's oversight. In the main text we give the sign present in EE, although the version of FE is also probably authentic. In addition, we suggest an analogous solution to bar 12, in which the pedalling seems to be best developed.
