Issues : Errors in EE

b. 20

composition: Op. 25 No 6, Etude in G♯ minor

..

Same as previously, FE, EE1 and GE1 misinterpreted the abbreviated notation of FC and remaining Stichvorlage manuscripts, giving the 2nd, 3rd and 4th groups of semiquavers without any accidentals. The mistake was corrected in EE2 (→EE3) and GE2 (→GE3).

Before the 1st semiquaver in the R.H. in FC (→GE1), FE and EE there is no  lowering b3 to b3. This patent inaccuracy was corrected in GE2 (→GE3).

Pedalling in FC & FE

Pedalling in GE

No pedalling in EE

..

The missing pedalling in EE must be an oversight. It cannot be excluded that it was Chopin himself that overlooked the base text to EE, completing the pedalling markings in this bar (in FC one can see that in bars 46-47 they were added by Chopin).

B1 in FC (→GE) & EE

G1 In FE

..

Compliance of FC (→GE) and EE allows to suppose that B1 was also in [A], while G1 in FE is a result of Chopin proofreading. Most probably it was actually a correction of quite a frequently encountered mistake in Chopin's works concerning the number of ledger lines (cf., e.g., the Etude in Gmajor, Op. 10 No. 5, bar 72.
