Issues : Authentic corrections of FE
b. 12
|
composition: Op. 25 No 2, Etude in F minor
..
There is no reason to doubt the authenticity of the pedalling added in this bar probably in proofreading of FE. However, the omission of the respective indication in the remaining sources and no pedalling, in all sources, in analogous bar 31 make us suggest a variant solution. category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations issues: Authentic corrections of FE |

The hairpins (and corresponding in bar 15) were probably added by Chopin in a proofreading of FE. The sign in EE3, despite being generally compatible with authentic indications of AW and FE, is undoubtedly an addition of revision. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Authentic corrections of FE |

b. 16-17
|
composition: Op. 25 No 2, Etude in F minor
..
Chopin added the pedalling in bar 16 in GC (→GE) and most probably in the base text to EE. The pedalling in both these bars in FE could have been a result of Chopin proofreading of this edition. After all, it is highly likely that we are dealing only with a difference in notation, as Chopin could have thought applying the pedalling of bar 16 in its literal repetition to be obvious. Similarly in analogous bars 35-36 and 39-40. category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations issues: Authentic corrections of FE , Authentic corrections in GC |

Same as in bars 16-17 and 35-36, in the main text we give the pedalling of FE, which may be a result of Chopin's proofreading. category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations issues: Authentic corrections of FE , Authentic corrections in GC |
