Issues : Authentic corrections of FE
b. 95-96
|
composition: Op. 26 No 2, Polonaise in E♭ minor
..
In the main text we give the longer slur with which Chopin replaced staccato dots and the shorter slur of A in the proofreading of FE1. He introduced similar changes in almost all analogous places. The version of EE is a result of misunderstanding of the quite inaccurately performed correction of FE (the removed dots remained partially visible there). category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations issues: Authentic corrections of FE |

The bass line led with single notes is the original version, changed by Chopin in the proofreading of FE2 (→EE). The proofreading proves that the introduced in many later collective editions change of the 1st octave in bar 103 from F1−F to G1−G cannot correspond to Chopin's intention. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations; Source & stylistic information |
